About me...

My name is Kalissa, and I'm the mommy of 2 amazing kids.  Caydree is 4+ and Calder is 18 mo.  Calder was born with a cleft lip and palate, so I started this blog to record our journey.  I'm also a 5th grade teacher, so unfortunately, this blog is always on the back-burner.  My hope is that someone, somewhere, will read something on here about our experiences that will help them in some way.  We live a very busy, normal life...a cleft lip/palate diagnosis was not the end of the world.  Did it rock us for a bit, absolutely...but the blessings we've seen come from it, far outweigh the hardships it's caused.  We are so fortunate to have supportive family, friends, and workplaces.  Our cleft team and medical care are wonderful.  Calder is truly the light of our lives, our comic relief, and one of the most special children we know. (no bias, of course)  We look forward to the road ahead, and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for our little man.
